Primary School

16 December 2018

Parents meetings were held last week, and we received very positive feedback. Your children receive their reports today; one is progress made against the Fundamental Learning Objectives (FLOs) which link to our school curriculum. Secondly, a report on InCAS assessments for each child. As I explained in the covering letter, we would like to invite you, to a parent information evening on Wednesday 16th January. Details will follow at the beginning of the term. This will provide an opportunity for you to learn more about the assessments, understand how you can interpret your child’s results, and ask any questions that you may have.

CPG books provided for purchase, to support your children at home were a great success and I have now ordered the books. They should be ready for the beginning of the new term. I will send out a message as soon as they arrive at school and we will send them home with the children. We still have some books available, so if you wish to purchase, please order through the school office. I have also ordered some sample copies of the Science support books, which again we can order for you in the new term.

Ms Emma our school Dance Coordinator organised an amazing dance assembly for parents and children, using the Juilliard curriculum, for Years 3, 4 and 5 girls this morning. The groups have been working hard this half term to produce a dance piece based on the idea of ‘Be Ambitious’. They then carefully put everything together with music based on believing in yourself, aiming high and following your dreams. The children should be very proud of their fantastic performances and the courage it took to dance in front of an audience. It was a wonderful way to end the year.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support this term, and I wish you all an enjoyable winter break. I will look forward to welcoming you back to school on Sunday 6th January.

Yours faithfully
Nick Jefferson
