Have you ever noticed how much fun children have learning, making things and trying out new ideas? It is one of the many things that make every day different and unpredictable. As we have followed the children in our theme ‘To the Rescue!’ They have really taken on imaginative ideas. The story of Supertato (the hero) was one of our ideas to begin the learning and the children are still mystified by the Evil Pea (the villain) who seems to arrive overnight and destroy the classroom, turning up tables and chairs, capturing the vegetables and even pegging our toys in the air! The traps have failed to work so at the end of last week they built traps in the classroom in an attempt to stop him from ‘messing up our classrooms’. We may need support from other people who help us this week! Perhaps some real Superheroes will arrive on Thursday! Learning needs to be fun and engaging with all children, but perhaps even more so, for our youngest learners, who are learning to learn, being inquisitive and investigating ideas. This is why we create a play-based learning environment at NAISAK. Here are a few things we have been playing with, engaging in and thinking creatively about so far this term.
