As we approach the final half-term, we are looking forward to celebrating our achievements from this year. The children have had an amazing year thus far and have achieved a great deal in terms of their personal development and learning. From the start of the year in Foundation 1, the children have become more independent, they speak more frequently both in English and their home languages. They are more confident and willing to take risks and try new things and are ready to move into Foundation 2 to continue their learning where they will focus on specific areas of learning. In Foundation 2, the children have become more confident and skilled, trying new things, having their own ideas and keeping focused ready to move into Year 1 as they leave the Foundation Stage and move onto the next stage of their learning. 

The curriculum allows us to follow the children’s interests and in the third term we can see just how far they have come in their learning as they apply their skills and knowledge to different situations. Their mark making is developing and they have applied this to writing lists, creating instructions on ‘how to’ and they have even started writing their own storybooks. Their mathematics skills are now being applied in problem solving. We are not finished yet, as there are many more opportunities and experiences still to come, so attendance is important up until the end of the year.
