CEM Data
Are we data rich or data powerful? Here at NAISAK, we collect a range of data in order to support our students’ learning and one data set we collect comes from CEM, the Centre for Evaluation and Monitoring at Durham University in the UK. At the beginning of each academic year, all of our primary and most of our secondary students complete online CEM assessments; Y1-6 complete InCAS, Y7 and Y9 MidYIS, Y10 Yellis and Y12 Alis.
On Wednesday 16th January, we held our second parent information evening to discuss what information parents are given and how to interpret it. Parents are able to use this data to identify their children’s strengths and areas for development and use this, in conjunction with the information from the termly school report, in order to support their children’s learning at home. Chris and Elizabeth spoke with a small number of parents and were able to have in-depth discussions about what the data looks like and how it is a starting point to further discussions.
