Dear Parents and Students
I am currently teaching the principles of effective communication with my IGCSE Business Studies students, which has encouraged me to reflect on how we spread our messages as a school. As my students were analysing the various forms of communication this morning, I asked them about the impact of newsletters and individual letters versus individual face to face meetings such as the parent-teacher meetings we are hosting Monday and Tuesday or the Year 12 Options Evening we hosted last week. I was impressed with how they could discuss the benefits of having documented outcomes but also pleased to see we were all in agreement that there is no substitute for face to face meetings. With that in mind, I hope many of you take the opportunity to come to our upcoming consultation meetings to learn about your children’s progress.
Students were also able to highlight the importance of feedback to allow us to determine if people are understanding our message. At NAISAK, we have received initial feedback from the Parent Satisfaction Survey and are awaiting the translated messages to be sent to us. Once received, we will thoroughly analyse the data, the comments and look to put action plans in place to ensure we continue progressing with our strengths and also to address the areas in which we need to improve.
