The Foundation Stage have been making the most of the still cool weather and enjoying their outdoor garden area. The PTFA kindly agreed to purchase a play kitchen for the outside area and the children have had many hours of enjoyment making potions, cakes and even washing up the dishes!
As well as cooking up a storm, the children have also enjoyed watching some of the beans they planted while reading Jack and the Beanstalk grow as they have cared for them. They have also planted sensory plants such as sage, oregano, rosemary and rose geranium. We are looking forward to a healthy crop of tomatoes in the near future too. They have learned how important it is to water the plants to keep them alive and have enjoyed experiencing their different smells and textures. The garden area will bring many hours of enjoyment and learning over the weeks and years to come!
