  • IPC

On Monday afternoon, our Primary staff took part in a follow-up webinar with Louise Norup, an IPC trainer, whom we welcomed to the school during INSET week back in August. It was an opportunity for our teachers to share their highlights and any challenges they have faced in the delivery of the ‘Brainwaves’ IPC topic, which all Primary students were engaged in during the first two weeks of term. Within this topic, the students have been exposed to the IPC Personal Goals: these underpin those individual qualities and learning dispositions we believe children will find essential in the 21st century. There are 8 IPC Personal Goals - enquiry, resilience, morality, communication, thoughtfulness, cooperation, respect and adaptability. Teachers are being encouraged to look out for those students who embody the Personal Goals and who can successfully talk about what each one means. To conclude our IPC training, there will be one further webinar with Louise next Monday. Staff are currently discussing what their needs are as we want the time spent with Louise to be as meaningful as possible. In the meantime, students from across the Primary years are engaging in their new IPC topic, which will no doubt create great excitement and challenge in the coming weeks.
