The Secondary School team welcomed the Year 9 parents and students last Tuesday for the IGCSE Options Information Evening. The evening was met with great success: some discussions on options had started many days before, carried on during the meeting and were still very much alive until today! For us, educators, it was fascinating to observe our learners fully absorbed in deep conversations with their parents and their teachers while contemplating their future courses at university and imagining themselves in the working life. We would like to extend again our sincere thanks to our Year 9 parents for their time, interest and support.
Please remember, the Options Form was due today.
Our Year 10 students met with a different challenge: They took part in a personality test on Thursday. The objective of such test is to reveal the professional fields our young people could excel in, according to their interests but also their current skills. Needless to say, some students were comforted in their future plans, others were amazed at the skills they did not know they had, and a few were left totally puzzled… This prompted some constructive discussions on aspirations and reinforced the students’ self-motivation ahead of the end-of-year assessments.
