Our two schools are open to both Vietnamese nationals and international passport holders. Choosing between our schools depends on which curriculum pathway you’d like for your child. Here are the main differences:
While both schools offer British-style education supplemented by internationally respected curriculum models, the British Vietnamese International School Hanoi (BVIS Hanoi) offers a bilingual programme up to the end of primary, following the robust international early years curriculum (IEYC) and international primary curriculum (IPC) in both Vietnamese and English, while the British International School Hanoi (BIS Hanoi) follows the English national curriculum.
Both schools offer the renowned Cambridge IGCSE curriculum for students aged 14-16 years old. For upper secondary students, BIS Hanoi offers the International Baccalaureate diploma programme (IBDP) while BVIS Hanoi prepares students to take the international A Level examinations.
BIS Hanoi provides a British-style education for international students aged 2-18 years old. Accredited by the prestigious Council of International Schools (CIS), we’re a friendly school in a leafy suburb of Hanoi, where we have the impressive facilities and high-quality teachers to help your child thrive.
We follow the English national curriculum supplemented by the international primary curriculum (IPC) and we offer qualifications that are respected all over the world – the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum and the International Baccalaureate diploma programme (IBDP), in which we achieve consistently excellent results. Our class of 2021 achieved an impressive IBDP average score of 38.2 – far outpacing the global average of 33 points.
Our exclusive collaborations with prestigious institutions such as Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), world-leading performing arts school Juilliard and UNICEF mean we’re at the forefront of educational thinking, while creating life-changing experiences for your child.
As well as academic excellence, your child’s all-round development is just as important to us. Through sport and performing arts, and contributing to our community, our students gain important social and personal skills, learning to become responsible global citizens. Our students interact with their classmates at our schools around the world through Global Campus, our online learning platform, developing the global mindset that will help prepare them for an ever-changing world.
