Welcome back to the start of Term 2
I hope everyone has had a relaxing and enjoyable holiday and is looking forward to this new term’s opportunities. There is a lot happening across the school which should make being back at school an enjoyable experience for everyone. Many year groups will be going out on residential trips in the coming weeks which is always a great way for everyone to make more friends and learn more about themselves in the different activities and challenges they face with their peers and teachers.
Our annual Fun Day, now called Community Day, will take place on Saturday 4th February and the school will be working hard with the PTG committee to make this a successful and enjoyable day. I know that some rides have already been booked and lots of planning for this event is underway. I hope you will support the various requests made over the coming weeks to ensure our whole community has a great time.
The Srivikorn campus building project is progressing well and hitting the deadlines so far. A lot of the major construction work will be completed this term and then it will be time to fit all of the fantastic new High School facilities. Much has already been ordered to fit the timeline for delivery and installation.
Our school senior team will be concentrating a lot this term on the recruitment of new staff for August 2017. There are approximately 12 teachers leaving across the school which represents a low turnover, which is very pleasing. Adverts have been placed with UK and international websites and through different recruitment agencies and we have had a great response so far to all the positions being offered. Many of the positions being advertised are to accommodate the expansion of the school. I will travel to the UK on 17th January for five days to attend the Nord Anglia Education recruitment fair which is held in London. I hope to fill many of the positions at this event.
I hope you and your family have a great Term 2!
