The High School Library is paying tribute to the world-renowned physicist, cosmologist, and famous author, Stephen Hawking (1942-2018), who passed away aged 76 on 14 March, 2018. There are some popular books including the all time best-selling Science book - A Brief History of Time (1988). The High School Library is very lucky to have a collection on his books which are currently completely sold out in bookstores. Please come to the Library, be inspired by quotes by Stephen Hawking and check out your favorite books before the Songkran holiday.
It is with great pleasure that the High School Library and Thai Department invited Khun Jidanun Leungpiansamut, S.E.A. Write Award (Southeast Asian Writers Award) 2017 Winner, for a writing workshop. Our Y9 & 10 students had a wonderful opportunity to participate in the workshop on “Short Story Writing Techniques” and meet a professional author who guided them how to develop their writing skills and strategies in Thai. Our warmest thanks go to Khun Jidanun Leungpiansamut for taking the time to visit our school. Our students benefited greatly from this experience.
Songkran is fast approaching so pop into the Library any time and check out your favorite books for holiday reading. There are many more new books available including some graphic novels which have been highly recommended by the English Department.
Year 5 students stepped out of the classroom and into the kitchen for a special Thai cooking class hosted by the talented chefs from getfresh. Under the guidance of the getfresh chefs, they learned about kitchen safety, teamwork, and, most importantly, the steps involved in cooking traditional Thai food like Tom Gai Kai and Lod Chong. The interactive session gave students the chance to discover new skills and connect with Thai culture in a fun and meaningful way.

Harry, Class of 2025, shares his experience on the International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme (IBCP). He is a passionate and driven young learner with a keen interest in hospitality and the service industry. One of the standout features of Harry’s IBCP experience was the opportunity to gain work experience working in the office and the operations side of getfresh, a popular cafe franchise in Bangkok.
At St Andrews Bangkok, we believe that every student deserves to feel seen, valued, and included both inside and outside the classroom. That’s why we are incredibly proud to introduce the Friendship Benches project, an initiative designed to foster connection, kindness, and community spirit across the school.
