Staff of the Simon Lawrence Library at St Andrews International School Bangkok are pleased to introduce “Comics Uniting Nations” to support the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals

As from Term 3, the Simon Lawrence Library is proud to follow the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and is promoting its 17 Sustainable Development Goals. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a call for action by all countries – poor, rich and middle-income – to promote prosperity while protecting the planet. ‘Comics Uniting Nations’ aims at making the Sustainable Development Goals accessible to the citizens of the world through comics. This is also supported with a partnership between UNICEF, PCI Media, World's Largest Lesson, PVBLIC Foundation and Reading with Pictures. We believe that this comics series leverages the universal visual language and transformative power of comics to educate people in every corner of the globe about the SDGs and empower them to create positive and lasting change in their own communities and worldwide as well. For more information on the comics, please click this link or view the introduction video. All copies are now available in the Library so please come read them at your convenience. Please be reminded that these copies cannot be checked out, they can only be read in the Library. Thank you so much for your understanding in advance.

New Information - Library Map

The Simon Lawrence Library has created a Library floor plan map that shows where all our collections are located. This map will certainly help you locate your favorite genres/books displayed in different sections of the Library. Specifically, as for all fiction books, the color code of book spine labels matches the color code of the bookshelves in any genre so that you can easily locate any books that are organized in alphabetical order on the bookshelves. Our Library maps are displayed  around the Library.

New Section - Teacher Resources/CPD

A new collection has been set up in the Simon Lawrence Library which includes this year’s book choices recommended in NAE’s Big Reading Challenge 2018 - 2019. These books may be of help not only to our teachers but also parents and staff who want to use them to help students develop a variety of skills and mindsets, e.g. teaching mindfulness and creative thinking, the problem solving skills needed to address complex problems, and so on. Everyone is welcome to check them out from the Library.
