Staff Profile: Alia Sillett

Alia Sillett

Teacher of Drama and Theatre Arts

Further to completing my MA in Drama in 2008 I moved to Thailand to teach English at a government school for the year. On my return to the UK I eagerly qualified as a teacher and later went on to achieve my MA in Education (transformational leadership). My professional background has been varied; I have taught Drama, Maths and English and have worked as a Senior Leader within 2 developing school environments. My most recent post before moving to St Andrews was as a Senior Leader for Pastoral Care and Head of Faculty.

I have a love of travel and adventure which brought me to Thailand initially in 2008. I moved back to Thailand in 2016 and very much see Bangkok as my home. I have two children, both attend school at the primary campus. We spend as much time at the beach or in the pool as we can.

It's inclusive nature and love of the creative arts is inspiring.
