Staff Profiles: Alison Morakot

Alison Morakot

Head of Business

I have been a qualified teacher since 2008 and hold a PGCE and BA Hons. Degree in Business. I have lived in Thailand and worked in international schools since 2012 having previously taught in a large sixth form college in the south of England.

I enjoy outdoor pursuits such as hiking, rock climbing and kayaking and share this passion for the wilderness with students through the International Award’s ‘Adventurous Journey’. I also enjoy playing contact rugby for a local team at a social level and help coach the girls Touch Rugby team here at St Andrews International School Bangkok.

I am an enthusiastic teacher who is passionate about supporting young people in their learning journey but also in their development as young, confident adults.

Here at St Andrews I feel valued as a member of staff, more so than I have in any school I have previously worked in. The sense of community is special here at STA. Everyone from the maids, admin staff, LSA’s, teachers and senior leadership work together as a unified team whose priority is the students. Happiness is very important here. The school is also extremely forward looking and we are encouraged to continually develop our approaches to teaching and learning. Sharing of good practice and ‘feeding off’ colleagues enthusiasm ensures we push ourselves and our students to be the best that we can be.
