I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Arts, majoring in Business Chinese and minoring in International Business Management. After graduating, I worked in various industries, including export sales, customer service. I completed my Undergraduate BSc (Hons) Degree in Mathematics with Education at the University of Derby. During my time there, I was fortunate to work for the University running Outreach events in Schools and Colleges across East Midlands.
I even spent one summer teaching English at a Summer camp in Latvia. I completed my teacher training at Loughborough University and then began my teaching career at a School outside of Mansfield. During my three years there, I became an Academic Mentor for Key Stage 4, working with students to raise aspiration and engagement across all of their subjects. I then moved to a school in Nottingham where I took on the Key Stage 3 Mathematics Progress Leader and Numeracy coordinator role.
I am now at St Andrews as Deputy Head of Mathematics and excited to help navigate students through their Maths learning journey! During school holidays, you’ll find me exploring coffee shops, beaches or music venues in a new city.
I love finding new places and exploring various cultures. After trying (and failing) to snowboard in Bulgaria when I was younger, it was when I put a pair of Ski’s on that I found my love for snow sports. I will still visit the mountains in summer and replace the skis with hiking boots or a bike. If I am inside, I’ll usually be found in a kitchen cooking different cuisines.
