Before moving to Bangkok, I lived in a small village in the countryside on the border of three counties; Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire. I was fortunate enough to work in a primary school in Northampton where I was a creative lead and a year 4 teacher for two years.
My passion to be creative enabled me to work closely with the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) and together with other members of staff we created a production of Hamlet last year. Aside from this, I also have a love for Science so you will often catch me carrying out all kinds of experiments with my class.
Although I loved working at my old school, it was time for a change. Having worked and lived in Thailand before, my husband and I were keen to return to the land of smiles and therefore Bangkok seemed like the perfect choice.
We were excited about living in a city, as we hadn’t done this since University. Together we did lots of research about where would be a good place to work and had also heard wonderful things about St Andrews, so when we were both offered positions earlier in the year we couldn’t wait to start! Since joining St Andrews International School I have been astounded by the friendly children and parents and how welcoming the staff have been.
There is such a positive environment all around the school which enables both children and staff to feel happy and engaged with the curriculum. I feel lucky to be a part of this and I am excited for the year ahead!
