British International School of Boston becomes local sponsor of Rio Olympics At the British International School of Boston, we believe that every student should have the opportunity to participate in athletics. With students from over 75 heritages represented in our community, we could not think of a better way to showcase our support of 206 countries coming together in Rio, than to become a local sponsor of this summer's Olympic games.

Athletics has become a focus at the British International School of Boston. Students are taught the skills of different sports over the course of the year and are encouraged to take risks by trying new things and getting out of their comfort zones. This encourages self discipline and teamwork, and students inevitably find at least one activity that they really enjoy.

Competitive sports begin in Middle School when BISB plays other independent schools in and around the Boston area. Over the past few years, the soccer, basketball and curling teams have enjoyed very successful seasons.

As Mr. Wiseman has previously discussed in his blog, sports should showcase sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect. The Olympics is supposed to embody all of these values which is why BISB feels that it is a great event to support. With students representing 78 heritages, we know that all of the countries participating will be supported by the BISB community.

Enjoy the games!
