Rachael Anderson-Shore
Having attended school in Worcester England, I went on to study International Business, Finance and Economics for my degree at The University of Manchester. On completion of this, I embarked on the Graduate Teacher Program, which I completed in 2012 and then remained at my training school for the next seven years. At this point, I had a wide range of opportunities available to me which have continued to develop my subject pedagogy and allowed me to experience several different roles including Leader of Creative Curriculum. After having been accredited as a Lead Learning Practitioner in 2016, I went on to lead the Math faculty at a leading inner-city comprehensive school within a Multi Academy Trust.
I am dedicated to delivering a stimulating and enjoyable learning experience to all students, drawing from a wealth of extended learning environments and enrichment activities, largely STEAM focused. I believe that the learning journey is most effective when all students have a positive attitude towards learning. As teachers and professionals, it is our role to create that positive atmosphere which is conducive to the learning environment, enabling pupils to foster positive attitudes and curiosities.
I have always aspired to work in the United States, since I would like to utilise and develop my skills and experience within differing educational and social cultures. I am extremely interested and excited to be a part of what the British International School of Boston has to offer regarding the learning and teaching ethos that is fostered for the students, as well as the wider BISB family of staff and parents.
The Boston area has been a real draw for me with its ease of access to several beautiful trails both for walking (as I have three English cocker spaniels who have joined us over here) and skiing. I love to be outdoors and thoroughly enjoy fitness and running. I am hoping to take part in the Boston Marathon, having previously run the London Marathon for charity on three occasions.
