Andrew Gillhooly

Andrew Gilhooly, Deputy Head of School

Deputy Head of School

It is a pleasure to join the British International School of Boston. I join the BISB community most recently from my 14-year tenure in Chicago where I first served as a math teacher and was then appointed as the Head of Secondary in 2013. I graduated from University with a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering from Warwick University, I also completed a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics from Sheffield University and I’ve completed a Master’s in International Education from King’s College London. I grew up in Sheffield, England on the edge of the Peak District and enjoyed rock climbing and mountain biking. After I graduated from University, I spent a year working in industry before I decided to retrain and become a teacher. I worked in schools in the north of England before joining the British International School of Chicago, South Loop in the summer of 2007. I am most excited to continue my journey within the Nord Anglia family of schools as the Deputy Head of School in Boston working with the amazing community of students, staff and parents of Boston.
