Originally from Boston’s north shore, I joined the British International School of Boston as the finance business manager in 2016 with experience that comes from living and working overseas in Europe and Asia for many years.
With over 20 years of financial services industry experience at leading financial services corporations, my career has been specialized in international finance, taxation, human resources, and operations management with extensive focus on strategic development for offshore start-ups and turnarounds defining and implementing process improvement and change management in both US and international contexts.
I recently transitioned back to the US hoping to build on that strong foundation in education management. Combining my passion for education and business management, with the sheer variety of activity that this role entails and the stimulating challenge it poses, holds great appeal for me striving for continuous improvement, innovation and embracing change to meet the needs of the BISB community.
Outside of work, I am active in my community and have served in a variety of leadership roles with the alumni associations of both Saint Michael’s College and the University of Notre Dame. I am a member of the Junior League of Boston, and active in local charity causes. Additionally, I volunteer my time to cancer research fundraising participating in the Pan Mass Challenge for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and the walk-a-thon for the North Shore Medical Center. Recently, I had the opportunity to spend time volunteering in a healthcare clinic in Peru. It was certainly an eye-opener on the perspective of appreciating and understanding healthcare systems. Being able to participate in triage, pre-op, and post-op care was a wonderful and insightful experience all-around, most importantly, connecting with the local people; that our paths are different, but when they intersect, perhaps there is something to learn and compassion to be shared. My keen interest in swimming, photography, and cross-cultural experiences continue to fuel my eclectic spirit.
I have a great respect for education and am thrilled to be working for an organization leading the future for global education; providing education to inspire and empower students to go out and be passionate about making the world a better place. There are so many opportunities available today and I cannot think of a more abundant environment than the one students find themselves in offered at the British International School of Boston.
