Stephanie Minto
Being born into a family of teachers, there really was only one route for me. After a year working as a polo groom and traveling to Argentina, I embarked on my degree course at Brunel University in London. Four years later, I graduated with a degree in Secondary Education with Physical Education and settled in London.
During the four summers at University, I worked in Michigan at a YMCA summer camp where I taught horseback riding, mentored the counselors in training, and coordinated all female staff and campers. I loved working in the great outdoors and thoroughly embraced the experience, especially learning to wakeboard and becoming a pro at building campfires.
I have taught in both the state and independent sector in London and most recently left a post as Head of Department in a school in Kensington. I love all sports, both to play and watch, and will turn my hand to any activity. I regularly played netball and competed at a high standard in London, but I have been known to play many other sports ranging from ultimate frisbee to skiing. I enjoy taking fitness classes, and at my previous school I ran an early morning boot camp session, which the students loved. Unfortunately, in order to move to Boston, I had to relinquish my much-loved Arsenal FC season ticket. I am hoping to fill that void by watching all the Boston sports (whilst keeping tabs on Arsenal as the season progresses!). I look forward to demonstrating my passion and drive for all things sport whilst encouraging and motivating others to find their passion in order to lead a healthy, active lifestyle.
I am enjoying my role as the Director of Student Welfare for Middle School students!
