Coming from a family of teachers I knew from an early age I wanted to be a teacher. I graduated from Leeds University and have been a teacher of art since 2001. I worked at two schools in the North of England near Leeds prior to moving to BISB in 2007. In my mid-20s, alongside my teaching, I owned my own boutique where I sold accessories which included hats that I made myself.
From a young age a played both the clarinet and piano. Although I have not played in a long time I still enjoy a range of musical genres immensely. I took up running in my late teens and regularly participate in 5K races.
what students say about me
"I did not enjoy Art until I came to BISB; Miss Smith helped me gain a whole new perspective on art."
what makes this school different
The students themselves are like no other. They are polite, intelligent and hard working. I have witnessed students strive for the best and achieve places at some of the top colleges around the world. I thoroughly enjoy my teaching at BISB as you can truly ‘teach’ students and foster a lifelong love of learning within them.
