Toddler Teacher and Director of Student Welfare for Toddlers t...
After studying Early Years Education Studies and earning a First Class BA (Hons) degree, I undertook a PGCE at Liverpool Hope University. I worked for four years in a large primary school in the Wirral (England) where I taught children in Reception. In addition to my role as class teacher, I was a member of the senior leadership team and led the Foundation Stage in this setting. Whilst working, I studied for a Master’s degree in Teaching and Learning which I completed in 2013.
Working internationally has always been something which I have been keen to do. An international school is a unique environment to work in as it presents a new range of demands and expectations.

Toddler Class Teacher and Director of Global Campus
After completing a degree in Outdoor Education I knew that I wanted to work with children in the Early Years, subsequently I completed a PGCE at the University of Brighton
I took up my first teaching post at a school in Brighton, and used my experiences to develop the outdoor space available to the Reception and Nursery children. I was proud to be part of a team that put the children first and worked closely with parents to make sure each child was able to fulfil their potential.
Nursery Class Teacher
Raised by a high school teacher in Southern California, I always knew I wanted to work with children. I spent my summers teaching at camps and worked as a substitute teacher after graduating with my BA in English. Those combined experiences led me to a graduate teaching program at the University of California, Santa Barbara. I spent my days teaching at a local school and my evenings learning from the wonderful professors at The Gevirtz Graduate School of Education.
I trained at Goldsmiths College in London qualitfying with a BA in Education with QTS. I have taught in three schools in the past 16 years teaching a range of year groups from Reception to Year 6. During these years, I have been a Mentor on the Graduate Teacher Program, PE, Literacy and Maths co-ordinator, EYFS leader, Ks1 leader, and part of the SLT in two schools.
I am very proud to have been a part of the Graduate Teacher program where I trained three teachers over three years to become Primary School teachers. This was an exciting role as it was linked to a University where I had additional training and was able to support adults from other roles in their venture to become teachers.
Reception Class Teacher
After completing a degree in Primary Education at Canterbury Christ Church University, I worked in a small seaside town in South East England for three years teaching Reception children. The Reception team worked closely together to ensure all children made progress and enjoyed their time in school. I was responsible for ensuring the smooth transition from Nursery to Reception, school trips and was the coordinator for Design and Technology across the school. I also organized and ran workshops for parents in phonics and math. Whilst working I studied for, and completed, my Masters in Early Childhood Education.
I am the longest serving member of staff at the British International School of Boston and have been teaching here since 2001. Before working at BISB, I was teaching in York, UK. In total I have been teaching children for 23 years. My initial degree was in History, and after I had graduated from the University of Wales, I completed my P.G.C.E. at the University College of Ripon and York St. John in York. I have taught across the range of primary year groups. Before I left the UK, I was the Senco at the school that I worked. Teaching in Reception this year will mean that I have taught all the grades from Nursery to Year 6 in my career so far.
