I have lived in the Charlotte region of North Carolina for the majority of my life. I decided to become a teacher after a tremendous influence of several teachers during my adolescent years.
I earned my undergraduate degree in English from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I have also earned two master's degrees in Education Media Design and Technology from Full Sail University, as well as in English from Arizona State University.
I taught High School English for fifteen years in Union County. In addition, I started increasing the use of technology in my classroom and saw great success with students who normally wouldn’t engage in the classroom, which led me to my master’s degree. I have also worked with teachers and students in the Charlotte Mecklenburg and Stanly County school systems to increase the effective use of technology in instruction and problem solving.
I have earned three distinguished recognitions during my teaching career: North Carolina Teaching Fellow, National Board Certification, and Google Certified Educator.
I have chosen to start teaching at the British International School because of the student and faculty’s desire to pursue learning as a family and develop problem learning skills and creativity. If learning is based on its influence upon the community and individuals’ lives, then it becomes even deeper and richer influence.
I enjoy spending time with my wife and family, along with hiking, camping, and watching sports. Our oldest daughter and son-in-law have blessed us with two grandsons, whom we dote on every opportunity we are given. I look forward to a successful year teaching IT at the British International School.
