As parents we all have the moment when not even a split second after the words leave our mouths we look over our shoulder to see if our own parent suddenly appeared and spoke for us. It’s that moment of “Wow that sounded just like my mother.” Followed by a sense of nostalgia back to when we were a child and our parents were speaking to us.
As leaders in the school, we all speak concisely and passionately about how special our school is and how great our student, parents and faculty are, but this rhetoric doesn’t stop with the people who work for the school. We have a group of dedicated and enthusiastic parent ambassadors who echo and reinforce what we say with their own family’s story. Their voice is one that carries even more weight in celebrating who BISC Lincoln Park is and what we do so well.
As our admissions ambassadors talk to our prospective parents, they get a different moment of nostalgia – back to when they were choosing a school for their family. They think back to when their children were just ready to start school or when their family just moved to Chicago and step back into the shoes of the prospective parent. What was important to them? What helped them see their family at BISC Lincoln Park? These questions can spark emotions of pride, happiness, love, and even excitement for the years to come.
Together we support, empower and educate others about why we love our school. Every day there are amazing things happening in each year group and classroom – we appreciate our parents “shouting them from the mountain tops”, or maybe even just from the community café.
