We are always so impressed by our students inside and outside of the classroom. Benny W., Abhi M. and Noah P. all had wonderful experiences and achievements during the Spring Break!

Benny W.

This Spring Break, Benny W. (Year 5) went on his first international music festival and performance tour in Iceland with the New Music School. As the youngest member of the group, Benny and the other young musicians presented three performances at premier music venues in Iceland, including Harpa Concert Hall, one of Reykjavik’s greatest and most distinguished landmarks. Prior to the tour, Benny and his teammates had spent months pulling together a collaborative piano project under the guidance of pianist Yana Reznik. On April 29th, they will be performing their Iceland program at Buntrock Hall of Chicago Symphony Center. Well done on to Benny on his musical achievements!

Abhi M

Over the break, Abhi was recognized by the Mayor of Chicago - Mr. Rahm Emanuel during Chicago Council meeting in City Hall. Abhi was recognized as Chicago Chess Champion in K-3 primary group and had his name  called out along with the school's name, as he was applauded by the City Council. He also received the "Resolution" signed by the Mayor describing their achievements and hard work. Abhi had a wonderful experience and got an opportunity to shake hands with the Mayor. Congrats to Abhi for his hard work, perseverance and continuous learning!

Noah P.

Noah visited Panama during the break.  He went to Colon, Panama to learn about the ruins and visited the Nature Museum in Panama City, which has an aquarium as well. He even met a pelican and they were communicating. What an amazing opportunity!
