What are the aims for your students and your teaching philosophy?
My students learn effective and productive practice techniques, music theory and ear training to become self- sufficient pianists. I'm passionate about my students having good technique, expression and perfection in their playing. I ensure they have a very strong foundation in Music Theory by giving them regular writing assignments. Piano programs are specifically geared to the abilities and interests of students. Natural hand position and technique that focuses on flexibility.
What is the highlight of your performing career?
Several of my students have won the Concert Series ‘Best Performer Award’ on multiple occasions. They’ve also won the Advanced Level Theory Skill-A-Thon, and earned Blue and Green ribbons at the Young Performers Awards. In 2014, PLIYH presented me with a ’5 Years of Excellence in Teaching’ plaque for my tremendous dedication.
