I am from London, and this is where I earned my teaching degree after studying in York and gaining a degree in English Literature and American studies. After obtaining my degree in London,  I then went on to teach in an early years setting in both nursery and reception. I have now spent the past two years with Nord Anglia Education, teaching in Dubai. Although I have never been to Chicago, I have spent a fair amount of time in the States, and I am very excited to discover what the city has to offer.

I was born in Mexico but raised in Chicago, IL. One of the things I love about Chicago are summer night. I enjoy long walks by the lake and family gatherings that involve scrumptious food!

I believe that learning should be personalized to each student. Children look different from one another...children act different from one another...and children think different from one another. It is our differences that make us who we are, and it is OUR style of learning that make us unique.

This beautiful city of Chicago is where I was born and raised, in the Ravenswood neighborhood. I come from a large, close-knit family of six and have an even larger amount of extended family members of which most live in León, Guanajuato, México, where both my parents are from. In my spare time I love spending time with my family and friends; exploring new places to eat, participating in community service projects with my sorority, dancing and more! After graduating in May 2008 from Loyola University Chicago, I continued working in retail and enjoyed traveling. Since joining BISC-LP in 2009, I’ve assisted in classes from Nursery to Year 2 and in the Spanish Language Department for Key Stage 2; I’ve had so much fun with my students and have developed great relationships with them and the parents!

Every student learns differently, whether it is through hands-on activities or visual aids. It’s from day one of meeting our students that we get to know them and their interests and from there we use that information to help develop more personalized lessons for them. This year I look forward to working in Reception alongside Mr. Tomlinson, and the rest of the Early Years team, in making learning fun and engaging with creative activities, thinking "outside of the box"!
