I grew up in Michigan, just outside of Detroit. I attended Michigan State University, pursuing a degree in psychology. After I graduated I began working in a local public school and fell in love with being in the classroom. Last year I was given the opportunity to work at BISC-LP and was overjoyed to move to Chicago. The change to a big city has been exciting! It's been wonderful exploring all that it has to offer. Outside of school, you can probably find me at the Music Box Theater!
Children are unique in every aspect, and this is especially apparent in their learning styles. Through my studies of child and adolescent psychology, I have come to learn the importance of acknowledging and celebrating the differences of all young children. It is rewarding to see children engage with learning that has been personalized for them - targeting their interests and supporting their individual needs. By providing the learning and resources they individually need, each child is given the opportunity to truly thrive within the classroom.
