Courtney S.

Pre-Nursery Assistant Director

I was born in Indiana and have been working in early childhood education for 7 years as a teacher and an administrator, both in Indiana and Chicago. I have my Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Administration from Purdue University and I am currently working towards my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from The University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign. I moved to Chicago in early 2017 and love everything about this amazing city! In my free time I love to attend concerts, go to theme parks, and explore all the city has to offer with my boyfriend and friends.

I think it's very important to personalize learning for each student. Everyone learns and develops at their own pace and it's important to understand that when working with children. In order to enhance each child's learning experience it's important to know what excites and motivates them to learn. Children need to feel supported and encouraged to take risks and try new things that will help them learn and develop.
