Michael Welch

Early Childhood Learning Assistant

I grew up in New Jersey, yet the Midwest has been a second home since my family lives in the Chicago area. I attended the University of Michigan, pursuing a psychology degree that gave me the opportunity to pursue fieldwork at the campus early education center, Towsley Children's House. After teaching English in South Korea and enjoying the experience, it is an exciting opportunity to join the PreNursery program at BISC-LP. Outside of school, I am most likely to be enjoying the outdoors of Illinois, be it golfing on the weekend or hiking with my puppy.

There's no limit to what every student can achieve. Students look to their teachers to help instill that belief that everything is possible. Learning in school presents new challenges for students and building a teacher-student partnership that communicates positive encouragement and steady progress is important. When a student sees this in the classroom, his or her unique potential will flourish.
