Year 1 Teacher

I am originally from Cardiff in South Wales. I have spent the last 4 years teaching Year 1 in a British International School in Dubai, UAE. This experience has been highly rewarding, and I am looking forward to the next exciting challenge. I am really excited to be joining British International School of Chicago, Lincoln Park. The school shares my passion and enthusiasm for teaching, and I cannot wait to join the team. The school has fantastic facilities and offers an extra curricular program to help develop children's interests, something I am highly committed to developing further. Outside of school, I enjoy keeping fit, playing rugby, and exploring new and interesting places. I cannot wait to explore the city of Chicago and meet my new class, parents and colleagues.

I believe that with the correct support, care and enthusiasm, there is no limit to what every student can achieve. Having originally worked as a Learning Support Assistant for two years, I was fortunate enough to work with a hearing-impaired child. The progress the child made in a short space of time affirmed my belief that every child can reach their potential, if the correct support, care and attention are given. I believe that each child is entitled to an education that will not only develop their educational skills, but also life skills. I am a teacher who is ambitious, enthusiastic and sets high expectations of all learners. The experience I have gained through working in an international school has shown me that every child has the ability to reach their full potential through differentiated support and encouragement.
