Year 1 Teacher

After gaining my first degree in English Literature and American studies in York, I moved back to my hometown of London to complete my teaching degree. I then continued to teach in a school in East London for two years in Nursery and Reception. I then swapped London for the hot desert of Dubai, where I taught Nursery for two years.

This is my fourth year teaching at BISC-LP. I really feel like Chicago has become home! I am excited to be teaching Year 1 after spending three years with the Busy Bears in Nursery. I know the Year 1 team will continue to build happy and encouraging experiences for the children.

I believe learning should be personalized to each student as this is how children learn best. When children are focused on their own interests, learning is tailored to suit their needs and abilities. This also allows for teachers to challenge children individually and for children to challenge themselves.
