I am from South Wales, which is also where I studied for my undergraduate degree in Sport and Physical Education. I knew I wanted to be a teacher from a young age, originally wanting to teach Physical Education in Secondary schools.
However, after experiencing teaching at Primary school age I quickly changed my mind and studied Early Years and Foundation Phase Education at an institute in Hereford. After gaining my QTS I returned to Newport, South Wales, where I started my first teaching job. I have taught in two very diverse schools in Newport which has given me great experience in a range of areas. I taught in South Wales for four years before making the move to Chicago. I have experience of teaching in different year groups ranging from Reception to Year 3. I am in my third year of living and working in Chicago. Chicago is an exciting and vibrant city with so much to do. I continue to enjoy exploring this wonderful city and feel very much at home here. Outside of teaching, I am a keen netball player. I have played at an elite level since the age of 17 and have been privileged enough to represent my country. My passion for the sport has been able to continue here with Chicago Netball Club.
