I grew up in north London and studied at the University Nottingham for my degree and the University of Brighton for my PGCE before moving back to London to begin my teaching career in a local state school. I first moved to Chicago in 2011 and taught at the British International School of Chicago for 5 rewarding years in different year groups and middle leader positions before leaving in 2016. After a few years teaching back in England and focusing on my family, I am excited to return to Chicago for a second time and to work at BISCLP. This time around I am looking forward to introducing my young daughter to this wonderful city and seeing it through her eyes!
I believe it is vital for students to have daily opportunities to be creative and to be challenged in order for them to take ownership of their learning, develop their skills, talents and passions in a personalized way and for them to feel a sense of motivation, independence, pride and achievement in what they do. By creating a learning climate based on these principles, children are able to strive for high academic success and develop emotional intelligence that will stay with them through life.
