Jess Quilligotti 2016

Year 5 Leader and Teacher

I am originally from Manchester, England and have also spent a few years living near London while studying at university. I moved to Chicago in August 2015 and have loved experiencing a new city. I really enjoy traveling to lots of new places in America and seeing all the different sights this country has to offer! Outside of teaching, I have spent many years training as an allstar cheerleading athlete. I have coached and trained competitively and have had the honor of representing England at the Cheerleading World Championships in Orlando, Florida for four years. I love running the cheerleading club at BISC Lincoln Park alongside Ms. Penner, and it’s great teaching children how to stunt, jump, dance and tumble!

In order to be the best learners possible, we need to help children to develop creative and innovative minds that can adapt and face future unpredictable challenges. Learning should be fun, creative and challenging; children should enjoy expanding their knowledge and understanding in many different ways, so that they are ready to make their own positive and unique mark on the world whilst inspiring others to do the same.
