Year 6 Leader

This will be my second year here in Chicago and I am looking forward to what the next year will bring! I was born and raised in Harrow, a borough in the north west of London, which is most famous for a prestigious boys’ school attended by Winston Churchill. I am proud of my London heritage and enjoyed growing up in a vibrant city full of life and history. Away from the classroom, my biggest passion is travelling. I am always keen to learn more about the culture and history of other countries. In recent years I have visited numerous places including Canada, New Zealand, Australia and many European countries. Since working in Chicago I have been steadily progressing my way through the United States! I also use travel to test my personal boundaries; in April 2017 I walked the Inca Trail in Peru, and recently I skydived over Starved Rock State Park! I have been teaching for 5 years and this last year was by far the most exciting. I am always inspired by the lively and friendly atmosphere of this fantastic city. I have enjoyed becoming part of this school community and cannot wait to continue my teaching journey at Lincoln Park!

Inspiring children is one of my biggest passions.  I am a strong believer in promoting learning through guidance and imagination. I know that a creative and diverse learning experience is at the centre of a child’s development and I always look for ways to help children grow into confident individuals by stepping out of their comfort zone. Using a creative and balanced curriculum provides a strong foundation on which to build for the future, and by recognising a child’s strengths, I can encourage them to support their peers, explore their potential and challenge themselves in all aspects of their lives. With this in mind, I always ensure my pupils enjoy their learning experience and ultimately strive to be the best they can be!
