I was born in Nottingham but spent most of my childhood in Norfolk, a beautiful county in the South East of England. I completed my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at the University of East Anglia. Then I took up a teaching post in an independent boarding school in the Norfolk countryside, where I gained much valuable teaching experience. My next adventure was to Poland. It was a wonderful opportunity to work in an international school, The British School, Warsaw, where I was Head of Year 3.
I am really looking forward to joining the team at British International School of Chicago, Lincoln Park, and I can’t wait to explore the city! Outside of the classroom, I like to keep fit, play the piano and violin, and try out different cuisines. In Chicago, I am hoping to join a netball team in my free time. I also love to travel and have recently visited countries in Europe, Central and North America. I enjoy seeing the different cultures and environments.
My favorite part of teaching is being able to enjoy the company of young minds and inspiring them to make the best of their individual strengths and talents. One of my hopes as an educator is to instill a love of learning in my students, as I share my own passion for learning with them.
