Originally born in the North of England and moving frequently both within the UK and internationally, our family relocated to Chicago in 2012 as a result of my husband’s job. We have all embraced living in the "Second City," constantly awed by the skyline, the waterfront, and the many opportunities for new experiences. I have especially enjoyed running along the lakeshore, live storytelling, and rowing with my daughter’s crew team on the river. At home, a menagerie of musical instruments is a key component of family life, inspiring our eclectic musical tastes. After pursuing other careers, I retrained as a teacher in 2006 and subsequently worked in both public and private schools.

I grew up in Elmhurst, near Chicago. I moved to Chicago a couple of years ago after completing my Bachelor of Music at Lawrence University. I love playing clarinet and singing, but what is most worthwhile to me is making music with other people. In my spare time I love making new vegan foods, learning new things, exploring Chicago, and taking way too many pictures.

I was extremely lucky to grow up in the beautiful county of Devon, surrounded by countryside and beaches. After qualifying as a teacher, I moved to teach in Newham, one of the most multicultural boroughs of London! I could not have asked for a more exciting and challenging start to my career - both with the exposure that London brings to new teaching initiatives, as well as my immersion into the culturally rich environment of school, in which over 60 languages were spoken.

I was born and raised in Chicagoland. After growing up with four siblings, I find I am continually drawn to environments with lots of activity and energy. I realized that I deeply enjoy working with children during my three years as a mental health counselor at Presence Saint Elizabeth Hospital on the west side of Chicago. My previous clinical work focused on treating children and adolescents admitted to the hospital for inpatient treatment. My time there was filled with the challenges and joys of working on a team to support children’s health and wellness in every area of development. Children grow and change so quickly, and I find it invigorating to work with them on their journeys.

I was born and raised in Wisconsin, where I received a bachelor’s degree in history and anthropology from Marquette University and began working in education and teaching. I became certified to teach history and also worked in test preparation, including teaching ACT and SAT classes. Although I enjoyed education, I had long desired a career in the healthcare field and made a career change to nursing, obtaining a master's degree in nursing from DePaul University.
