I am originally from North Yorkshire but have been lucky enough to spend the past few years working internationally and exploring the world. I gained my undergraduate degree in Music Technology from the University of Huddersfield and then spent a year as a Kindergarten Teacher in Taiwan before completing a PGCE and subsequent Masters at the University of Exeter. My international career has taken me to Ethiopia and Malaysia so far and I am very much looking forward to moving to Chicago this summer. I love the outdoors and can be found on a mountain or putting up a tent most weekends. I am very keen to explore Illinois’ State Parks and hiking trails as well as taking morning jogs down Chicago’s Lakefront Trail!
I wholeheartedly believe that global opportunities enhance every student's learning experience. International school children have the advantage of being able to experience an education which is not only inclusive but cherishes and celebrates their global identity. Through the use of technology and dialogue, countries and people on the other side of the planet are just around the corner. These opportunities provide the most powerful learning for children.
