Assistant Head - Pastoral Care, Wellbeing & Safeguarding

I grew up in Leicestershire, England with my brother, Adam and mum and dad. I always enjoyed playing 'teachers' from an early age and graduated from Chester College in Cheshire in 2000 with a teaching degree. My first years were spent teaching in Birmingham, England until I moved to Chicago in 2009. Here, I have been able to continue my love of traveling by adding Central America and China to my list of places traveled since living here. I further practiced my sports love in Chicago and became a keen Crossfitter in 2014 and even played netball for the U.S.A. squad in 2012 in Trinidad! Chicago is a wonderful city, and it continues to provide me with much happiness. I met my Chicago-born husband, Nico, here in 2013 and we married in 2017 in our local neighborhood with friends and family. We welcomed our first child, Zara, in December 2018 and our second child, Liza, in 2020. We are excited to have begun our lives together as a family of four in this amazing city, one I very much now call home.

I have always loved teaching and working alongside young minds with a focus on developing a child’s character. I am fortunate to now be in a role where I can lead and develop this area of learning in our school with the help of our much loved Goal Squad! Helping a child learn how to be the best version of themselves and preparing them for their future with self-regulation, good communication and empathy is vital to their future success. It is a privilege to work at BISC-LP where we very much value the personal side of learning as well as our excellent academic provision.

  • Universities Attended: University of College Chester
  • Degrees Earned: B.Ed. with Honors specialism in P.E.
