P.E. & Health Specialist and IPC Leader

I am originally from northwest London: I grew up, went to school and worked all in the same borough. After a few years of teaching Year 6 in a local school, I realized I wanted to take on a new challenge. I jumped at the chance to move to Chicago and teach at BISC Lincoln Park. As a big sports fan, the city suits me to a tee. I love watching the Blackhawks at the 'Madhouse on Madison' though naturally, being British, soccer will always be my number 1 passion.

I believe that creativity and challenge are vital to a child's educational well-being. Creativity is highly valued in a modern society; it helps us problem-solve, innovate and develop our understanding of all the learning we do. Children who are creative are much more likely to succeed in a world that constantly changes around them. At BISC Lincoln Park, we also talk about challenge on a daily basis and attempting challenge is seen positively. It is incredibly rewarding to witness that intense feeling of pride and satisfaction in the students that comes from them succeeding at something they didn't know they could achieve.
