I am originally from London in a place called Harrow, a borough northwest of the city. I studied for my Geography degree in Wales but moved back to London to complete my teaching certificate and subsequent master's degree. I grew up loving sport, both as a player and to watch as a fan, so Chicago is perfect for me. Watching the Blackhawks at the United Center is something I particularly enjoy, though my main love is Fulham FC in the English Premier League. Having lived here for 7 years, I very much consider Chicago my home. The skyline never fails to impress me, it's a great base from which to travel, and the friendliness of the people is second to none.
I believe that creativity and challenge are vital to a child's educational well-being. Creativity is highly valued in a modern society; it helps us problem-solve, innovate and develop our understanding of all the learning we do. Children who are creative are much more likely to succeed in a world that constantly changes around them. At BISC Lincoln Park, we also talk about challenge on a daily basis and attempting challenge is seen positively. It is incredibly rewarding to witness that intense feeling of pride and satisfaction in the students that comes from them succeeding at something they didn't know they could achieve.
