I'm originally from Gloucestershire in the UK. Since moving to Chicago I've found ways to get stuck into my local community: volunteering at the Nature Museum, tending a plot in my local park's community gardens, and starting a book club in my neighborhood to get to know my neighbors. I love how every neighborhood is so unique and experiencing great places to eat, socialize, and experience something new.
Creativity and challenge help our students get better every day. I believe that every child is a born scientist. Something as simple as scribbling on a wall is an investigation in "what happens if I do this." They inquire, they observe, they conclude, and then repeat with a slight change in the variable. Our wonderful STEAM Department is a place where children can come to solve problems, complete projects and learn through creating!
