Tom Collins 2016

STEAM Leader & Science Specialist

I hail from the Royal Forest of Dean and come to Chicago via London and Japan. I find Chicago constantly surprises me with things to do, see and eat. I enjoy food and cooking and have joined a cook book club since moving here. I keep fit by running, cycling and walking to school.

Creativity and challenge help our students get better every day. "The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination." This quote is attributed to Albert Einstein and, although his original words have been paraphrased, I feel creativity is the best way for children to develop. Through creative use of the STEAM disciplines children can challenge themselves to achieve more, make meaningful connections between subjects and make sense of the world around them.
