Year Leaders

Our middle leadership team represents each year group at BISC Lincoln Park from Pre-Nursery to Year 6. These nine leaders hold weekly meetings with their year groups and serve as representatives at our staff meetings too. Reporting to our key stage leaders, they are the senior leadership team's first point of contact regarding all year groups.

    Emma Taylor

    Pre-Nursery Director

    Emma Taylor

I was born and raised in West Yorkshire, England, where I studied for two years to become a qualified Nursery Nurse. I then attended Edge Hill University near Liverpool, where I undertook my teaching degree. After graduating, I moved back to my hometown, where I began teaching in a local primary school. I had the pleasure of teaching there for three years in Early Years and KS1, where I gained many invaluable experiences. During my second year of teaching, I became the Science Subject Coordinator for Early Years and KS1.

Teaching was something I always wanted to do while growing up in Lincolnshire. Before moving to Chicago, I taught in both Key Stages 1 and 2 in a highly successful school in the outskirts of Liverpool following my graduation from University there.  While at University, I had the opportunity to do a placement at a school in Milwaukee, WI.  It was from there that I made my first visit to Chicago and fell in love with this wonderful city that I now call ‘home’.

    Year 2 Leader

    Matt Gregory

I grew up in East London and, after finishing my degree, I took a range of jobs in the city before moving into teaching. I began my career in education at the primary school I attended as a child, spending 4 wonderful years working in the community I still recognize as home. I moved to Chicago in February 2013 and I have come to know and love the city for its cultural richness and diversity.

    Gemma McIntosh

    Year 3 Leader

    Gemma McIntosh

I graduated with first class honors in Primary Education in 2004 from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow. I taught in Scotland for four years before starting my international teaching experience at BISC-LP. After spending three wonderful years teaching in the early years department and enjoying life in beautiful Chicago, I left the states to join my (now) husband, Oliver, in his home country of Spain. While there, I spent two years teaching in a British international school where I gained invaluable experience teaching children with English as an additional language. However, when the opportunity came up to rejoin the Nord Anglia family of schools in New York, Oliver and I decided to make the move, and we have now been back in USA for 7 years. Life in New York was fast paced and fun, however when our family life changed significantly with the arrival of our twin boys, Alfie and Noah, we decided to move back to Chicago. I have loved being back teaching at BISC-LP and reacquainting myself with this amazing city, and I am very excited for my boys to join The Ducklings class this year! When I am not in school, I love to travel and experience new cultures and have visited many countries all over the world; Alfie and Noah have managed to get a few stamps in their passports in the first few years of their lives! I am an active person and enjoy a challenge; I have completed the Chicago, Seattle and New York half marathons. With a Spanish speaking husband and bilingual children, my personal challenge this year is to continue learning how to speak the language!
