I was born in a small town in Scotland, exactly in the middle of Glasgow and Edinburgh. I attended Aberdeen University where I gained my Bachelors Degree in Primary Education. While studying, I worked in Spain every summer which then inspired me to take my teaching career further afield.
After completing my initial teaching year in Scotland, I went on to teach in Dubai where I stayed for a fantastic seven years. I have taught a range of classes from Early Years through to Year 6. Living in Dubai was an amazing hub for my travel addiction; I have now visited 63 countries, 6 continents, 6 Wonders of the World and every Disneyland Park around the globe! I love adventure and have enjoyed trying many new experiences such as: sky diving, scuba diving with sharks and paragliding in Rio (to name a few). This has been my first year teaching here at BISCLP, and what an amazing year it has been! I have loved working in Year 6 and have settled so well into the Chicago lifestyle. Exploring some new states around America has also been a highlight! My wife and I are expecting our first baby in August, so we are very excited about the new adventure that lies ahead!
I have a true passion for teaching and learning, always striving to prepare students with skills they can use outside the classroom. My belief is that learning should be both meaningful and fun; children should be surrounded by relevant experiences that they can truly make sense of.
