Candy, Crocodiles & Snowy Evenings
Candy, Crocodiles & Snowy Evenings Primary celebrated World Book Day with poems of all genres.

What do candy, crocodiles, snowy evenings, woodland paths and ravens have in common? Nope, it's not a riddle! They are the themes of our Primary Book Day poems.

Primary children celebrated World Book Day with fun activities based on poetry. Nursery and Reception read Roald Dahl's “The Candyman”, while the older children looked at Edgar Allen Poe's “The Raven”, and many more.

The children recited their poems by heart during a poetry performance and Secondary teachers got involved, too, teaching the children “master classes” on poetic techniques. We connected our poems to English, Math, Social Studies and Art activities.

To top it off, the children had the chance to dress up as their favorite book character or author. Our guessing game was really fun!
