Scholarship

Scholarship is a value that underpins the entire NJHS organization. To maintain academic integrity, we set high academic standards for prospective members to meet.

Service

Service is an essential part of an NJHS member's life and is highly regarded in the selection and enrolment process. This quality is demonstrated through the voluntary contributions of a student to the school or local and wider community through the enthusiastic participation in projects without the expectation of reward or praise.

Leadership

Our NJHS members are future leaders, and we seek to encourage this through our requirements of leadership in the selection and enrolment process. Student leaders are positive role models to others, who seek to promote school and external activities at every opportunity, whilst being resourceful and good problem solvers.

Character

NJHS members must display good character in all that they do. Those of good character are courteous, maintain an excellent behavioral record, upholds the principles of morality and ethics. They are cooperative, honest, and reliable, and show concern and respect to all in the school community.

Citizenship

As with the ideal of character, NJHS members must show themselves to be dedicated to active participation in being a good citizen. They understand the importance of civic participation, have a high regard for freedom, justice and democracy, and demonstrate this through their responsibility and involvement with a variety of school and out of school projects and groups.
