British International has partnered with Academic Approach to engage students in developmentally appropriate test prep programming beginning in Year 10. Drawing from their suite of skills-based assessments and analysis services, professional development supports and direct instructional programs, Academic Approach’s customized test prep program is designed to help raise BISC student achievement on the ACT/SAT.

Naviance is a comprehensive college and career readiness platform that helps align student strengths and interests to postsecondary goals. Naviance Family Connection offers innovative, easy-to-use web applications for British International high school students and their families with individual login information. Naviance will help guide each student’s academic and career choices as well as provide them with opportunities for college, career and self-exploration with a variety of research, assessment and planning tools.
Current BISCSL families can access the Parent Portal’s College Counseling folder for essential information and resources such as: BISC College Handbook, BISC College Counseling Notes, Summer Enrichment, Gap Year, Presentations, College Counseling Forms, Grade Conversion Chart; and resources for international joint and dual degrees, studying in the UK, Canada, France, the Netherlands and the United States.

College Counseling Programs
College Visits: Over 70 college and university representatives from the United States and around the world visit BISC each year to share information about their institutions and build relationships with our students and college counselors in our intimate College Counseling Suite.
Presentations & Events: From hosting evening presentations to offering standardized testing information sessions, we present a variety of programming each year to facilitate the sharing of college admissions related information and resources.
Coffee Chats: The college counselors regularly moderate informal conversations with parents of different year groups on a range of age-specific, college-related topics from College Admissions 101 to Summer Enrichment.
Workshops: Each year we organize a collection of workshops that can include a Mock Admissions Committee Workshop, Interview Workshop, Common App Personal Statement Workshop, UCAS Personal Statement Workshop, Applying to UK Universities Workshop and more!
Panels: In addition to the programming above, the College Counseling Department hosts a series of interactive panels such as: Alumni, Liberal Arts, Parent & Student and Engagement
