Coming from a family of teachers, there was a certain inevitability about me joining the profession. Although I graduated from Leeds University with a degree in Computer Science I trained to become a mathematics teacher. I began my career in 1995 at a large secondary school in Middlesbrough and spent the next twenty years working in state schools in North East England, taking on a post of greater responsibility each time I moved establishments.

    Nicola Able

I was born and raised in the South East of England and studied for my degree in Psychology and Philosophy at the University of Glamorgan and more recently I have been awarded my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. I began teaching in the West Midlands where I taught many different subjects including Philosophy and Psychology and then relocated to Devon to take up the position of vice principal at an outstanding 11-18 school.

It has been an ambition of mine to work in America for a long time and am delighted to be joining the Nord Anglia family of schools in the beautiful city of Chicago. I have heard a lot about the school and the excellent team of leaders and teachers that I will be joining and feel excited to be joining the school on the next stage of its journey.
