Throughout my training I had the privilege of gaining experience in a variety of schools in Scotland in inner city and rural settings. Throughout my teaching career, I have been fortunate enough to gain a breadth of experience in Early Years and Additional Support Needs. I also went back to University in 2012 to complete my postgraduate certificate and diploma in Inclusion and Learner Support.
In my previous school, I took on many roles including leading literacy to ensure high attainment levels in reading, and leading transition from Nursery to Primary School. I have a real passion for my job and view every child at the center of the learning. I believe learning should be fun, active and interesting as well as based around developing skills and children who can lead their own learning. I am very excited about working at BISC where learning is engaging and exciting for the children, and where children are developed academically, personally and culturally.
I grew up in a small town in the south of Scotland and then moved to Dundee for University. I enjoy travelling and seeing new places – I'm excited to be a new resident of Chicago! Outside of school I enjoy keeping active and going to the gym. I also love food and cooking, and enjoy trying new foods!
